その時代にはその時代の問題点がある。その愚かしさを暴きだし、嘲弄するのが風刺絵なのだがその世界にどっぷりとつかっているとなかなか気が付かないこともある。
イラストレーターのジョン・ホロクラフト（John Holocraft）は、現代における問題点を、シニカルでシュールなイラストで表現した。
その手法は、ホロクラフトと呼ばれる1950年代の広告とヴィンテージ感をベースにしたスタイルである。最初はよくわからないかもしれないが、イラストをよく見ると、その問題点が浮き彫りとなっていく。
的確に表現されたそれは、見るのもつらく、耳が痛いと感じる人もいるかもしれない。もちろん何のことを風刺しているのかわからない人もいるだろう。
